As with the other editions of this series, there is a comprehensive spreadsheet filled with statistical data on every player. That spreadsheet is linked at the end of this edition.
These 106 men came from 74 high schools and found homes at 74 DI colleges. One traveled from Wentzville, Missouri to Durham, North Carolina. Another, from Lee’s Summit West to Austin, Texas. And from being a Hawklet in Kansas City, to a Husky in Boston. And a Stag found his new color to be Cardinal after traveling to the West Coast.
Angelo Allegri (St. Thomas Aquinas) goes out West to be First Team All-Big Sky Conference. Yuri Collins (St. Mary-MO) stays close to home to lead the nation in assists per game at St. Louis University. Did I say lead? He finished with almost two more assists per game the second place. That is the equivalent of lapping the field. Dajuan Harris, Jr. (Rock Bridge/Univ. of Kansas) crossed that state line to be third in the nation with his assist to turnover ratio.
There is a conference Player of the Year, and many All-Conference selections. They led their conference in assists, assist/turnover ratio, points per game, field goal percentage, and minutes played per game. And they hit the books. There were several Academic All-District awardees.
For academic awards, I use those awarded by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). The All-American teams were chosen by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). The conference honors and statistics and the national statistics were provided by the respective conferences and the NCAA. I listed those in the top five in their conference and the top ten nationally. The comprehensive spreadsheet covering all 106 players that is attached at the end of this article contains data provided by each school.
