It's a Wrap. NCAA Division III MBB Post Season Honors and Numbers
Missouri and Kansas produced 96 NCAA DIII MBB players. Listed below are their season accolades and numbers. Take a look at their accomplishments.
These 96 men came from 77 high schools. Small schools like Leopold and Deerfield. Large schools like Rockhurst and Blue Valley North. They fanned out to 32 schools in 17 conferences. They went West to La Verne and Occidental. East to Colby College and the Univ. of Scranton. And some stayed closer to home at schools like Westminster and Webster University. Or, close to home at the Univ. of Chicago and Case Western Reserve. But, they all are playing out their childhood dream of playing basketball in college.
Travis Lien (Kirkwood/Franciscan Univ. of Steubenville) and Jaxon Althaus (Oak Grove/Westminster) both led their team in scoring. Jake Kampf (Barat Academy/Principia College) led his conference with 37 minutes per game. That is an important metric for MVP consideration in by book. Who do you want on the court the most? Well, those who are the most valuable to your winning, right? Jake was also tenth in the nation in 3 PT shooting.
For the academic awards, I use those awarded by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). The All-americans were chosen by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). The conference and national statistics are provided by the respective conferences and the NCAA. The comprehensive spreadsheet covering every player that is attached at the end of this article had data provided by each school.
