What is Playing On Sports?
Playing On Sports covers the graduates of 1,000 high schools located in Kansas and Missouri who compete in 11 sports in any of the 1,100 NCAA Division I, II, or III colleges and universities.
Our best athletes go on to play the sport they love in college. It is impossible to keep track of them because our lives are busy. And then there is the Transfer Portal. Contact is lost. Until now. Playing on Sports is the only publication that delivers so much information on so many athletes as they compete at the next level. No longer are they “Out of sight, out of mind”.
Every athlete is identified by their name, sport, position, class, high school, college, and collegiate conference.

A Mid-Season Look at NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball
There are a lot of great season being built. Just a sophomore, Ayden Shannon (Wellington-Napoleon/William Jewell College) leads in minutes played per game. That is just part of the youth movement because five of the top six in minutes played are underclassmen.
Katie Wagner (Maize South/Fort Hays) is tops at this juncture of the season in shooting threes. The gyms at Bishop Miege must be open for their students to get in and shoot because two of the three top three point shooters are former Stags. Johnnie Gonzales (Bishop Miege/Missouri Western State) is shooting .431 from beyond the arc while Gabi Giovannetti (Bishop Miege/Washburn) is hitting at a .422 clip.
Brooke Littrell (Green City/Univ. of Central Missouri) is fifth in NCAA DII in free throw percentage. Sadie Misner (Warrensburg/Fort Lewis College) would be fourth, but she falls just shy of the minimum shots that are required.
Great shooting also extends to field goals. Reese Schaaf (El Dorado Springs/Pittsburg State) leads this two state area in field goal percentage. She is also 10th in the nation, just ahead of Karenna Gerber (Halstead/Pittsburg State) who is 11th nationally. And El Dorado Springs must have their gyms as available as Bishop Miege’s gyms. They have two of the top three shooters from the field. Macie Mays (El Dorado Springs/Pittsburg State) is third on the leaderboard. And please note the youthfulness. Reese is a sophomore, Karenna is a junior, Macie is a freshman.
Yiibara Nwidadah (Olathe North/Washburn University) leads in rebounding while the assist leader is Aubree Dewey (Plainville/Washburn University).
Ashlyn Alloway (Olathe North/Lincoln University-MO), while a sophomore, leads her team in Game Starts, Total and Ave Minutes, Field Goals Made and Attempted, Points Scored, Ave. Points, Rebounds, Ave Rebounds, and Blocked Shots. That is an MVP season in my book.
