Area Ladies Playing DII Basketball
I have shown you the men and women competing in DI. Here are the DII women. Stay tuned for the rest of the Missouri and Kansas grads competing in the NCAA.
There are over 750 men and women from Kansas and Missouri high schools competing in basketball in the NCAA. I will be updating this information and highlighting the superlative accomplishments of our local athletes throughout the season. You can see my first review of the DI men here, and my first review of the DI women here. Be sure to subcribe to get my men and women DIII reviews, plus content throughout the basketball season. So, let’s take an early look at the 181 area ladies playing basketball in Division II of the NCAA. And remember you can contact me at this address.

There are 181 area ladies competing at 50 DII colleges. They come from 125 high schools. There are 10 graduate students lacing it up for their last season. And there are 35 true freshmen taking that first big step out of high school. Some of these ladies learned to love basketball in a large metro area and some developed their game in small rural areas. When you look at the attached spreadsheet you will see that three of the five highest points per game scorers come from high schools that COMBINE to have 285 students. That shows you that you that large basketball edifices are nice, but not necessary to learn how to drive to the rim or to drop in the trey. Another small town lady proving she belongs on the city court is Macy Doebele (Hanover/Washburn) who is back for her senior year averaging 7.5 points and 6.5 rebounds through two games for the Ichabods.
While a few athletes are waiting for their season opener, most have gotten started. And some have gotten off to a fast start. Sophomore Emma Perry (Liberty North/Southwest Baptist) can hit the three. Through three games she is 12 of 21 from beyond the arc. Also a sophomore, Molly Hartnett (St. Thomas Aquinas/Northwest Missouri State) is still perfect from the free throw line. Molly is 14 for 14 from the stripe through two games. This is a good group from the line as they are collectively shooting 74.86%.

There are freshmen who have gotten off to great starts as their collegiate careers begin.
Two games into her freshman year, Ella Moody (Central-St. Joseph/Northwest Missouri State) is averaging 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. Amaya Blake (Park Hill/Missouri-St. Louis) is hitting for percentage, shooting 55% from the field, including one trey, and hitting both free throws. That results in 12.5 points per game. Harper Schreiner (Eudora/Pittsburg State) continues her play that made her a three time Kansas Class 4 All-State player. Through two games, she is averaging 12.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 2.5 steals. Emree Zars (Mill Valley/William Jewell) must be comfortable being a Cardinal as through 2 games she is knocking down 10 points and getting 8 rebounds per contest.
