Area Men Playing DI Basketball
Basketball is just starting and so are we. There are over 750 men and women from Mo/Kan playing basketball at the DI Level. Come see who they are and how they are doing.
Yesterday, we took a look at the local women competing in Division I. If you missed that piece, you can see it here. Today, we get a look at the men. There are 103 of them. They come from the large metro areas like St. Louis to the East to rural towns like Hoxie, Kansas to the West. They are playing at schools from Niagara in the Northeast to Pepperdine on the South Pacific coast of California. And from Eastern Washington in the Northwest to the University of Central Florida. Most colleges have played their first game or two. And the majority of these guys have scrored, even some of the freshmen. Who will score the most? Hit the most three’s? Block the most shots? Make the most assists? Subscribe to this newsletter and you will know.
It will be fun to see how the season unfolds for this group of talented basketball players. Several double double’s have been recorded already, including Carte’Are Gordon (Webster Groves/Grambling State) who scored 18 points and got 14 rebounds in his season opener. Spencer Jones (Bishop Miege/Stanford) started his senior year with a well rounded game of 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 blocked shots.
