This article will cover every quarterback playing in the NCAA, all three divisions, who played their high school ball in Missouri or Kansas. They are spread out among the divisions this way:
Division I 23
Division II 40
Division III 12
Are they all on the field? Of course not. Only one QB at a time, right? Some aren’t playing because they will be redshirted. Some because of an injury. Some are prepared to play, but know they are patiently waiting their opportunity. Of the 75 roster quarterbacks, 21 have passed for yardage. Seven lead their team in passing yardage per game.
Be sure to check out the spreadsheet attached at the bottom of this article. There you will find a listing of every Missouri/Kansas NCAA quarterback, along with their detailed year-to-date statistics.

Big games need big time players. Especially at the quarterback position.
Playing their first conference game of the year, the Florida Gators took on the No. 11 Tennessee Volunteers. With high precision, Graham Mertz (Blue Valley North/Univ. of Florida) connected on 19 of 24 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown. As seen in the national news, the Wisconsin transfer had support from his old Madison stomping grounds. Graham got warm postgame congratulations from his girlfriend, Miss Wisconsin.

Brady Cook (Chaminade/Univ. of Missouri) led his Tigers past former conference rival, Kansas State. Brady leads all Division I quarterbacks from these two states with 244 passing yards per game. He has completed 72% of his passes and has five TD passes with no interceptions for the season.
Brett Gabbert (Christian Brothers/Miami-Ohio) led his RedHawks to a road win over the Cincinnati Bearcats. Brett connected on 12 of 20 passes, good for 237 yards. He threw for three TD’s, including the game winner in overtime. He also led the RedHawks in rushing with 75 yards on nine carries.
Leading all quarterbacks for Missouri and Kansas is Tanner Clarkson (Platte County/Black Hills State Univ.) Tanner has averaged over 281 yards per game through the air. His 67% accuracy has led him to connect on eight TD passes, with only one interception. Tanner has his Yellow Jackets at 2 and 1 and 1 and 0 in league play. This week they travel to Colorado School of Mines for a second Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game.
Nolan Hair (Blair Oaks/Truman State Univ.) is now a third year starter at quarterback. He looks to lead the Bulldogs beyond their 9 and 2 finish of a year ago. They are 3 and 0 this year going into their home game with Saginaw Valley State on Saturday. Nolan is averaging 212 passing yards per game this year, but the Blair Oaks grad is also known for his accuracy. Completing 64.38% of his attempts this year brings his career average to 61.28%. The Truman State career record is 60.6%. He is also among the career leaders in several other passing categories, which you can see here.
There are more quarterbacks putting up numbers. We will get to them in future articles. We will also soon be looking at rushing and receiving performances.
