Well Represented in DII Women's Soccer
There are 354 athletes from Missouri/Kansas competing in NCAA DII WSOC. And some are among the best in the nation. Some have lots of experience. Some are rookies. That bodes well for the future.
There are 317 position players and 37 goalies from Missouri and Kansas who are competing in NCAA Division II. That is a big number. Sure, many play for the several DII programs in our two home states. But, the local talent is why those teams are so good. Local talent leads No. 7 Washburn, No. 15 Central Missouri, and No. 23 UM-St. Louis. In all, there are 68 local athletes competing on a team in the Top 25 in the nation.
I Know What You Are Thinking!
You are wondering who from this area is playing Women’s Soccer in Division I. Right? Be sure to come back here, but click here for the 233 local athletes in DI WSOC. You will find the DI Men’s Soccer players here.
Don’t miss the spreadsheet at the bottom of this article. It lists year-to date-statistics for each of the 354 athletes.
These ladies come from 150 high schools and play at 44 colleges and universities. Many play locally, but they also have gone to states like Texas and Florida to compete.
Some of these athletes represent the steady hand of experience. An example is Mackenzie Dimarco (Pleasant Hill/Emporia State). The Hornets are very pleased to have Mackenzie as a graduate student. This is her fourth year of competition. There isn’t much she hasn’t done. She has been her conference’s Freshman of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, and is a 3-peat First Team all-Conference honoree. Last year, Mackenzie was named an All-American both on the soccer field and in the classroom. Both Isabel Robben (Hays/Fort Hays University) and Hannah Woolery (Cair Paravel/Emporia State University) are also CSC Academic All-Americans from a year ago.
Area athletes are also establishing themselves early in their careers. Examples include these freshmen:
Ryann Clark - Piper - Univ. of Central Missouri - Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association - Fourth in Shots on Goal, Second in Shots on Goal Percentage
Mackinly Rohn - Washburn Rural - Washburn University - Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association - Second in Assists Made
Mackinly Rohn - Washburn Rural - Washburn University - Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association - Tenth in Assists Made
Caitlyn Smith - St. Dominic - Rockhurst University - Great Lakes Valley Conference - Tenth in Assists Made
Kristin Wright - Shawnee Mission West - Univ. of Central Missouri - Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association - First in Goals Against per Game, Sixth in Total Saves, Eighth in Saves per Game
Jenna Skeeters - Fort Zumwalt South - William Jewell College - Great Lakes Valley Conference - Third in Total Saves, Second in Saves per Game
And whether they are graduate students or freshmen, they rank highly nationally. For example:
Mackenzie Dimarco - Graduate Student - Pleasant Hill - Emporia State University - Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association - Fifth nationally in Points Scored and fourth in Goals Scored
Kristin Wright - Freshman - Shawnee Mission West - Univ. of Central Missouri - Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association - Fifth nationally in Goals Against Average.
Sadie Wolf - Sophomore - Lafayette-Wildwood - Colorado School of Mines - Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference - Eighth nationally in Goals Against Average
Kaitlin Knetzke - Fifth Year - Springfield Catholic - Drury University - Great Lakes Valley Conference - Ninth nationally in Saves per Game
Julia Mincher - Junior - Fort Zumwalt East - Quincy University - Great Lakes Valley Conference - Tenth nationally in Saves per Game

What You Will See in this Article
You will see specific athletes highlighted due to their high ranking in certain statistical categories. You will also see the year-to date statistics for every Missouri and Kansas athlete competing in NCAA DII Women’s Soccer.
What you Won’t See in this Article
While you will see each player who plays defense, you won’t see them ranked highly in any of the listed categories. The categories all pertain to offensive players and goalies. There should be more defensive statistics published. But, we work with what we have. It is notable that when you look at the athletes on the attached spreadsheet, you will see defensive players at the top. That is because they are listed in order of Minutes Played. So, not only are the defenders the ones who keep the score low, they are also on the field for most of the game.
Want to See the Good Stuff for the Defensive Players, Too? Here is how you do that:
If you like this information but also have interest in the defensive players, then you won’t want to miss the “It’s a Wrap” series. There will be a separate edition for each NCAA division (For the men, too!). In addition to the season’s final statistics, you will see which athletes have achieved post season recognition for their play. That is where you will see the all conference players, which include the defensive players. You will also see the Defensive Players of the Year. And those will be for each of the dozens of conferences in which these athletes compete. And of course the national awards will be listed, too. Both athletic and academic. It is a comprehensive list you cannot find anywhere else. How do you have this delivered free to your inbox? There is only one way. That is for you to get your free subscription to Playing On Sports.
