These DIII Ladies are getting it done. Team and Conference Leaders abound.
They shoot. They score. They score often. They rebound, block, pass and steal. They do all that in the Midwest. And back East. And in the South. They are leaders wherever they go.
These are all ladies from Missouri and Kansas competing in WBB in NCAA DIII. Let’s get started.
The leading scorer is Annette Ramirez (Sarcoxie/Westminster MO) who is knocking down 20.0 points/contest. The sophomore is also the leading scorer in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Also leading her team in scoring is Peyton Starks (John Burroughs/Macalester College). A sophomore, just like Annette Ramirez, she also leads her conference with her 18.9 points/game. Competing in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Peyton is also second in field goal percentage and fifth in free throw percentage. And to ensure the conference knows who she is, she is on the court 35 minutes per game, the second most in the conference.
Back in the SLIAC, Julie Baudendistel (Lindbergh/Webster Univ.) leads her team and is fourth in her conference with her 15.7 points/game. That is no doubt aided by her three point schooting, which is fourth best in the SLIAC. Jessica Brooks (MICDS/Wash U. St. Louis) is cruising along with her 15.6 points per game, but it’s her 3.50 assists per game that has her ranked third in the ever tough University Athletic Association. Natalie Bruns (Kirkwood/New York Univ.) also competes in the UAA. She leads the Violets with 15.3 points/game. She also leads her teammates in rebounds and blocked shots per game. Conference wide, the junior is first in blocks, second in rebounds and third in field goal percentage. Those are excellent numbers, even in the Big Apple.
Madison Nelson (Kingston/Fontbonne Univ.) doesn’t lead her team with her 15.1 points/game, but that number is the fifth best in the SLIAC. The freshman helps herself having the third highest field goal percentage in her conference. A sharp shooting 52.36%. Victoria Perry (Waynesville/North Park Univ) took her basketball skills to the North where her 14.5 points per game is her team high and is fifth in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
Even though she is a freshman, Taylor Brown (Lift for Life Academy/Principia College) leads her Panthers with 14.1 points per game. Area ladies have a firm grip on the boards in the SLIAC with Kourtney White (Hazelwood Central/Fontbonne Univ.) leading the conference with 8.7 rebounds while Paige Fowler (Herculaneum/Principia College) averages the second most with 8.0 boards per contest.
Kristin Herndon (North Nodaway/Knox College) leads her team in scoring with 13.1 points/game while leading the Midwest Conference in blocks and is third in rebounds. Her 57.42% shooting from the field is tops in the conference. Also in the MC is Annie Lally (St. Joseph’s Academy/Lake Forest College). Annie is fifth in the conference with 13.9 points/game. No doubt that is aided by her conference second best 53.33% shootin from the field.
Sameera Elmasri (Mill Valley/Birmingham Southern) took her stealing talents southward where her 3.0 steals per game No. 1 in the Southern Athletic Conference.
It is easy to see how our local ladies go all over to continue playing basketball, and they continue to have success. Take a look at all the ladies and their numbers.
