Teaser Alert
Coming to an inbox near you! You will see awards and honors bestowed upon our Baseball and Softball athletes, along with their season statistics. All 1,373 athletes.
This will be a series of six articles. One each for each NCAA division of Baseball and Softball. There are 873 Baseball athletes and 503 Softball athletes. You will see the statistics on all of them. These six articles will also highlight 283 athletes who have received various conference and national honors and/or finished in their conference Top 5 or the NCAA Top 10 in a significant statistical category. You will see batting, pitching, and fielding statistics and honors.
There are All-Americans. Both athletic and academic. There are Players of the Year. There are All-Conference selections. A lot of them. There are gold gloves and All-District honorees. The DI lowest Softball ERA? Check. The highest DI Batting Average? Check. These aren’t local heroes. They are national stars on a national scale. Which of course does make them local heroes. Those in middle school and high school will find many roll models in these articles.
You will see who the NCAA designated as the Toughest to Strike Out among all who competed in DI Softball this year.
What high school has the most grads among the 283 highlighted athletes? That would be Shawnee Heights with seven. They are followed closely by St. Thomas Aquinas with six.
All coming soon.
