We just reviewed the athletes from Missouri. Here are the leaders for Missouri athletes who are now competing in the NCAA. All 129 of them! Come see who they are.

Kansas is producing excellent women’s basketball talent. It is now spread all over the NCAA. Where are these ladies coming from? These 129 athletes come from 70 high schools. Large and small schools. Public and private schools. From Western Kansas to the suburbs of Kansas City.

There are five schools who have four alums playing somewhere in the NCAA. And there for three more schools that could produce a starting lineup of five who are competing at the next level. But, can they play? Yes, they can. Playing for Olathe North would be Yibari Nwidadah, who is now at Washburn, where she is averaging 17 points and 7.5 rebounds for the Ichabods. It helps when she is shooting over 70% from the floor. That is the highest in all of Division II, by almost five percentage points. Olathe North also has Eylia Love who is recording over 11 points and seven rebounds for her Cougars at the University of Houston. St. Thomas Aquinas would be well represented by their five who have moved on to the NCAA. Sameera Elmasri is scoring over 16 points per game at Chaminade while Charlotte O’Keefe is dropping in more than nine per contest at the Univ. of Texas-Rio Grande Valley. The Aquinas grads are putting up some Saintly numbers at the free throw line. Elmasri is shooting 77.6% and O’Keefe is shooting 71.0% from the free throw line. And Molly Hartnett is shooting 81.4% from the line for her Bearcats at Northwest Missouri State.

S’Mya Nichols is making her former Vikings team proud as she is becoming dominant in the Big 12 Conference. As a sophomore Jayhawk, out of Shawnee Mission West, she is putting in 22 points per game. Young athletes have all heard about how they can increase their scoring if they work hard at shooting free throws. They can look to S’Mya for proof. She is getting to the line over ten times per contest. And because she nails 82% of them, she gets an astounding 40% of her total points from the charity stripe.

Taryn Sides, out of Phillipsburg, doesn’t just rule the Big 12 Conference from beyond the arc, her 51% shooting is the third best in all of Division I.

Ella Mackiewicz, out of Shawnee Mission Northwest, may be playing her ball clear up at the University of Wisconsin at Platteville, but that distance can’t excape the notice of Playing On Sports. Just a sophomore, she is scoring 14.4 points per game and has grabbed 26 steals.

Emily Ryan, out of Central Plains, and now at Iowa State, continues to dish the ball out in record numbers. She resets her Cyclone career assist record with each assist, and is sixth this year in all of Division I.

Taylor Weishaar, out of Riverside, is just a freshman at the University of Central Missouri. But the Jennie leads this group of talented players with 28 blocked shots for the season. That is the most blocked shots in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association.

Harper Schreiner, formerly of Eudora, is excelling at Pittsburg State. She leads in a category that makes her a favorite of any coach. She has 65 assists and only 21 turnovers. That is an assist to turnover ratio of 3.10. That works in any offense.
