It's the Fourth
Not the fourth quarter. It's not even the fourth inning. It's the Fourth. Like no other. No other country has the Fourth that we Americans have. Let us never forget that.
Much of the world either loves us or hates us. But, they all do so because of various levels of jealousy. It’s because they don’t have the Fourth that we do.
What is our Fourth?
Our Fourth is when we celebrate another year of freedoms, liberties, and prosperity in amounts the world has never known before.
Our Fourth is when we take stock in what has been accomplished while realizing the ideals and goals have yet to be achieved. It was a grand undertaking for sure. Yes, it has taken us centuries to get part way there. But, as long as we keep focused on the original goals, we will continue to go forth in the right direction.
Our Fourth is when we stop to realize that of all the walls and fences encircling the nations of the world, we don’t need one to keep our citizens in. Our Founders had to be onto something good with so many people willing to risk their very lives to step foot on our soil. We understand that we celebrate because we are grateful.
Our Fourth is a time to celebrate with family and friends. I like my corn on the cob grilled. And I always look forward to my mother’s Cole Slaw dressing. It is the one that originated at the Brookville Hotel. Some of you will know what I am saying. It really is that good.
Our Fourth is when we celebrate in many ways. A baseball game comes to mind. As does family cookouts and picnics. A trip to the lake. Fireworks. Awesome fireworks. And fireworks remind us to be safe. Keep it so everyone enjoys the entire celebration.
Our Fourth is a reminder of both what had been done by our forefathers, but also what we must do to keep the fire of the greatest experiment burning bright.
Don’t ever forget that no one else has the Fourth that we have.
