Introducing: Playing On Sports Futures

"Futures" will be an ongoing series featuring local athletic talent on the cusp between today and their collegiate careers. It will describe who they are and why they have the opportunity to compete.

Playing On Sports is a one of a kind publication that focuses on the collegiate experience of athletes from Missouri and Kansas. We look at stats, achievements, honors, and much more. Not for just a few, but all of them.

This new series allows us to get a jump start. We will take a look at local athletes just before they compete at the next level. You will get to know them as athletes and as individuals. We will see where they have been, where they are, and where they are going.

Let’s start with which athletes qualify.

• All featured athletes have, or soon will, graduate from a Missouri or Kansas high school.

• The athlete has a firm commitment to be on a four-your college team roster.

• The athlete can compete in any sport, whether regularly covered by Playing On Sports, or not.

Who can suggest an athlete to be featured?

This is an exciting time of the year. There isn’t any competition yet. But, there is preparation. And anticipation. Lot’s of anticipation. We don’t know what exactly will happen. However, we do know it will be good. And this series will give you an early glimpse of what is to come.

Football, Volleyball, Soccer, and Field Hockey are upon us. And Basketball, Baseball, Softball, and Lacrosse aren’t far away. Which future collegiate athlete should we get to know? Please let me know!
