Basketball Intermission. A Baseball Teaser.
We are approaching the end of a great season of basketball. But, here is some baseball. Just two of 894 area grads playing baseball in the NCAA. Two freshmen. A highly ranked team. A win.
It’s early, but the season has started. Yesterday the No. 5 ranked Arkansas Razorbacks hosted the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks. Arkansas, 19 and 2, defeated SEMO 12 to 2. And they did it with Missouri baseball talent. Young talent.
Reece Robinett (Kennett/Arkansas) is a freshman first baseman for the Razorbacks. He went 1 for 2. His solo shot to left in the fourth inning game Arkansas the lead for good. That is a nice way to collect your first collegiate home run.
Freshman Ben Bybee (Blue Valley Southwest/Arkansas) got his third start in five appearances. His four innings of one hit, no run pitching got him his second win of the season. While doing so, he struck out 5 Redhawks.
That is just one game, one team, two players, both freshmen. You need to subscribe so that you can take in a season of NCAA baseball. It’s free.
