Area Volleyball Players Garner 5 of 20 Coveted Spots
USA Volleyball announced roster for the 2023 Girls U19 NORCECA Pan American Cup. This roster will train in Anaheim to compete for the 12 spots to go to Puerto Rico the second week of May
Once again showing well on the national stage are the volleyball players from Missouri and Kansas. USA Volleyball selected 20 ladies from coast to coast to their U19 National Team. Five of those come from local area codes.
They are:
Brooklyn DeLeye (Washburn Rural)
Brooklyn is a 6’2” outside hitter. She is a two time Kansas Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year. The MaxPreps.com First Team All-American has signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of Kentucky.
Ryan McAleer (Blue Valley)
Ryan is a 5’5” libero. She will continue her volleyball career as a Purdue Boilermaker.
Reese Messer (St. James Academy)
Reese is a 5’11” setter. She is a sophomore with two more years of high school competition with the St. James Academy Thunder.
Calissa Minatee (North Kansas City)
Calissa is a 6’0” middle blocker. Going forward, the Under Armor All-American will compete for the University of Minnesota Gophers.
Logan Parks (Blue Valley North)
Logan is a 5’11” Opposite/Setter. She is a sophomore with two more years of high school competition with the Blue Valley North Mustangs.
USA Volleyball announces that twelve players from the group of twenty will be chosen to compete at the 2023 Girls U19 NORCECA Pan American Cup from May 7 to May 15 in Ciudad de Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico.
