Area Pitchers in NCAA DIII Softball
We have a smaller representation in DIII than in DII and DI. But, as you will see, our ladies go far and wide to get to that pitcher's mound.

There are 25 Missouri and Kansas grads on DIII Softball rosters as pitchers. And 22 of them made it to the mound. They come from 23 high schools and attend 15 colleges in 10 conferences. Some stayed close to home at Fontbonne and Westminster, while others sought out mounds and bullpens in Pennsylvania and the Chicago area.
Three sophomores have spent the most time on the mound. Madelyn Buske (Webster Groves/Aurora University) with 151.2 innings pitched, Hailey Kutz (Notre Dame-Cape Girardeau/Fontbonne University) with 116.0 IP, and Haley Miller (Liberty-Wentzville/Westminster MO) who has logged 108.1 innings of work. Next in line are two freshmen, Kaley Adzick (Lafayette-Wildwood) and Emma Caplinger (Timberland/Rhodes College) with 92.2 and 75.1, respectively.
Of those with 30.0 or more innings pitched, the 7 lowest ERA’s have been produced by freshmen and sophomores. The lowest being by a sophomore, Hailey Kutz (Notre Dame-Cape Girardeau/Fontbonne University) at 2.41. Low ERA’s were also produced by freshman Kami Matthews (Marquette/Fontbonne University) at 2.52 with sophomore Sam Foppe (Notre Dame-St. Louis/Fontbonne University) not far behind at 2.55.
Hailey Kutz (Notre Dame-Cape Girardeau/Fontbonne University) and Sam Foppe (Notre Dame-St. Louis/Fontbonne University) have the lowest opposing batting averages at .211 and .218, respectively.
Hailey Kutz (Notre Dame-Cape Girardeau/Fontbonne University) easily has the most strikeouts with 125. Her strikeout to walk ratio is an excellent 3.05. Another Sophomore (Madelyn Buske (Webster Groves/Aurora University) is second in strikeout outs with 71 but has a leading strikeout to walk ratio of 3.74. Madelyn leads in wins with 12, while Hailey is close behind at 11.
